I recently re-joined the PSSA that meet up in Fircrest/Tacoma. The website lists the current exhibits and artist news. Here's my "Artist" listing on the Puget Sound Sumi Artists website

Starting to work on some images for this uncoming submission:
Exhibition: flo·ra·bun·da: Flowering freely in a profusion of botanic abundance. This exhibition will present abstract and representational depictions of flora that elicits a sense of fertility, growth, sustenance, and resilience, a feast for the eyes and nourishes the soul.
Location: Ida Culver House Broadview, 12505 Greenwood Ave. N, Seattle
Deadline: May 17, 2014
Threw water color on some scrap WC paper last night.... sprinkled salt too.
Plan to do some pen/ink and WC Pencil on them...
This is an example that I made in my Zen Ink class with the same technique.

this is the "award" that 9 artists that have participated five years with the annual NW Furniture Bank fundraiser were given.
I wasn't able to go to the NWFB reception as Friday was Olympia Arts Walk - maybe cloning would be a good thing for occasions like this... I met the coordinator on the way up to Port Orchard today when I was bringing the art to the Sidney Gallery.
will take better photos tomorrow for posting this on Zazzle and Fine Art America but I thought today's arts walk might be slow at times and I was correct so I brought my WC pencils and created these two drawings. I'm going to frame the tree to submit to the Annual Helen Norris Open Exhibit at Sidney Art Gallery in Port Orchard. I'm also taking up artwork for my art buddies [Peggy, Joanne and Andrea].

and this floral which doesn't show true colors but too tired to try to correct it

I'm also framing the acrylic "Heron's Morning" that I posted a few weeks back for the Norris event.
I wasn't able to attend the NW Furniture Bank reception because of Arts Walk and here's an email I received - talk about time flying!
Thank you for being one of the Chair Affair's "5 Year Artists"! At our wonderful event last night, I presented a special award to those 5 year artists who were in attendance.......there are 9 total.......as a huge thanks for coming on board the first year with a brand new event, and staying with us every year.
We appreciate you! And, I have your gifts, and would like to deliver them to you - hopefully not mail as they are not tiny.....
Plus I never have had any luck selling at Arts Walk - well, I had something special going on this year.... one of my friends bought two "cubicle art" collages and I sold two other mini collages from last year's Avanti Art & Design 30x30 challenge yesterday and one today at 5:30 when I was just thinking of packing up.
Here's my display - simple and tidy...
I'm interviewing for Splash Gallery on Monday but my art buddies [Joanne and Judi] and I are going to check out the other co-op gallery which now is located near the mall. We heard very good things about both galleries - I see much pondering in my future

didn't realize this was the last day of acrylic painting at Panorama... will start again in the fall.
worked on this today... I had added allot of textured paste over the netting. can't remember what it looked like before or why I never finished it.
looks like a fantasy landscape... needs a dragon.
not going to work it too much more. I already spoiled it a bit adding the teal to the water.
On this one, I tore off the embellishments
and really piled on the modeling paste.
looks like a close up of a flower...
Olympia Spring Arts Walk tomorrow.... time is flying past. Need to get my things ready. rarely sell anything but great time to hang with my art friends.
keep arting!

I've been selected to have cards at a new space in Tacoma called The Nearsighted Narwhal! Now I really have to get busy with card production!
The Nearsighted Narwhal is a store focused on self-publishing and DIY. We offer local and non-local self-published materials such as zines, books, comics, music, etc. We also provide an area where you can work on self-publishing. We carry consigned goods that are handmade, as well. Stop by and have a cup of coffee, read a zine, or take a workshop on the myriad facets of self-publishing.
