Received this message today 8-12-2020 from the director of Oly Parks, Arts and Rec class offering: Our building will continue with the reduced hours for Fall session only operating Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm so evening & Saturday classes won't be part of our offerings.

Therefore none of my art class fall proposal will be offered.

Added to one story idea at total of 76,999/

Also was editing another story for a total word count of 101040 for the month of July.

Playing with words keeps me sane...

Be Safe...

It's been a long time since I added anything. Between the pandemic, disturbances downtown and just getting older, I have been concentrating on writing as a creative outlet.

Gallery Boom is closing the Adman Street location in favor of an online presence and small shop. That's the last of the galleries. I have run out of steam and the heaps of unsold work weighs heavily on my creative soul.

I have switched to taking on the NaNoWriMo challenges as I have to have a creative outlet.

I'm not sure if I will teach in the fall. Covid cases are increasing in the State of WA.. If I decide to, I will post my classes.

Good Luck and stay safe...

Ellen

A short note to say that my 2020 Winter classes are posted. Art classes make great holiday gifts.

Honor your creative side even if for a while its been neglected. Many of my participants gave up art for many reasons during their journey. My classes are a good way to rekindle creativity and have fun too.

Wishing everyone a Happy Fall...

Wow, I've been remiss in keeping up with blog.

Tore apart the "art room" and still have sorting to do. check Gallery Boom's Arts PArt area. I bagged a lot of miscellaneous while organized my teaching sample/materials and particular projects I want to focus on in the future. Most of the teaching supplies are in the garage. Otherwise it was a hunt for whatever I needed.

I also cleared many of my art samples for various classes. They're marked $5.00 at Gallery Boom where my display is located.

I have to admit I think I broke through a lingering depression hence the reorganization. Partly it was constant discomfort from Achilles tendon and right knee. The steady pain was exhausting but now ankle and knee are much better; walking is usually back to being comfortable and speedy.

October's classes were a bust. Not sure if people are worried about the finances or the general unrest of the times. There are still some offerings for November...

I manage 3,000 words per day on a multiple number of writing projects. I don't outline so I often get a block as how to end the story. Most mornings I wake up with a scenario including dialogue. NaNoWriMo - National Novel Writing Month is around the corner. I'm trying to finish about four stories at once; it's like working on several paintings at once.

that's it for now...

Keep creating!

It must be spring cleaning just in time for Olympia Arts Walk!!! Clearing out many miscellaneous artwork [collage, Pen & Ink, watercolor pencil, watercolor, etc]. I'll be working Tuesday at Gallery Boom. These various unmatted sample pieces from various classes are $4.00 or $5.00 .

Please support my valiant effort to make space in my cluttered art space!

Thanks

Ellen

I really should scan recent art made for class samples or during class as an example...

Working on two stories simultaneously as in taking a break from one to form another. I see the story in dreams and then write down the vivid scenario and the dialogue.

Stay warm folks and keep creating!!!

Well, the days do speed past...

Still writing more than arting but it's all creative.

Pen, Brush and Ink starts next week. Reviewed the handout and made some improvements.

I'll be down at Gallery Boom for three of February's Tuesdays from 11-3pm. I brought down my collaged Valentine cards as well as marked down my chop stick journals.

Hope to see you there...

Ellen

Wishing everyone is having a great start to their New Year.

I'm still writing more than arting. Edited my two November 2018 NaNoWriMo challenge stories. Redid/edited my 2014 NaNoWriMo challenge as well.

My classes are off to a good start at Olympia Parks, Arts and Rec. Check out the class listings.Just sent in my spring and summer class proposals for Olympia Parks,Arts and Rec.

I haven't put new art work up in a long time. My PC crashed last spring and I lost the majority of files, yes they were backed up but some not as recent as they should have been plus all my programs were wiped out. I even lost my calendar with all the phone numbers and addresses too.Wow, that was depressing but life goes on.

Enjoying the minutes longer level of light since December 21st solstice...

Stay creative,

Ellen
