The enso is one of the deepest symbols in Japanese Zen: Enso represents the void, the Tao, the infinite, simple existence, impermanence, emptiness, enlightenment and the loss of self.

The Enso is painted with watercolor on Arches hot press watercolor paper. Substrate size 10.5"X 14"; image size 10"X10". Kanji character cut from art paper and adhered onto painted image.
